Sororities

Social Organizations are organizations that serve to enhance a student’s social life while providing many activities outside the classroom. Fraternities and sororities participate in countless community service, intramural, scholarship, leadership and campus programs. There are currently 10 Sororities, 15 Fraternities and 3 governing councils which are the Panhellenic Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council and Interfraternity Council at Eastern Kentucky University. Social sororities recruit new members before school starts in August (Fall Recruitment). Spring Recruitment for most sororities is throughout the month of January. Our publications include, Your Guide to Greek Life and The Leader's Lantern, a student produced Greek Newsletter. Historically Black Greek Organizations (NPHC) usually recruit in the late spring and accept only upperclass women.
