Alpha Gamma Delta has
made a commitment to academic excellence both for the individual and
for each chapter. The Fraternity has specific goals and guidelines to
assure that academic achievement remains a priority. The Fraternity's
Strive for Pi program recognizes individuals and chapters that have
attained a 3.14 grade point average each term.
Each member must
attain at least a 2.30 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) to be
initiated. Each collegiate member must maintain the chapter’s
scholarship requirement (at least a 2.30) to remain in Good Standing.
Each collegiate chapter must maintain a 2.80 grade point average to
remain in Good Standing with the International Fraternity. The Vice
President Scholarship provides scholastic programming to help each
individual and the chapter achieve these goals.
The Gamma Omicron
chapter has been committed to scholastic excellence since the
installation of the chapter at Eastern Kentucky University. Study
groups are common for sisters to study together at the Crabbe Library
on campus.
There are also
scholarships available to members through the Alpha Gamma Delta
Foundation. General Foundation Scholarships are open to all
members regardless of their field of study, chapter affiliation and
college or university attending. These scholarships are in the amount
of $750 for qualifying undergraduate students in their junior or
senior year and $1,000 for qualifying students in a graduate degree
program. There are also scholarships for certain fields of study.
